When mixing December and music in the same thought, the natural conclusion reached is of course, usually that of Jingle Bells or Run Run Rudolph. Even if the kind of holiday tunes that come to mind aren't straight out of a book of piano sheet music, there are plenty of artist renditions out there, from Tanya Tucker's Winter Wonderland to Relient K's Deck the Halls. But this December, there's a different kind of tune to sing.
While producing the holiday ballad Christmas Without You for Orange County-based unsigned band, McClory, Wall of Sound Studios came face to face with the reality that some might actually have to face the holidays alone. After the studios discovered they were located next door to Kristie's Foundation, a non-profit supporting terminally ill children and their families, the song was suddenly seen in a different light. Definitely puts things in perspective.
In a moment of clarity, a song, originally written about a broken heart, took on new meaning. To see that someone else’s heart was going through a whole other kind of breaking. The kind of unimaginable heartache that comes when a parent watches their child take their very last breath & kisses them goodnight for the last time.Together with McClory, Wall of Sound decided on a plan to reinforce the gift of giving - for every purchase of McClory's Christmas Without You, a portion of the proceeds goes to Kristie's Foundation.- Wall of Sound Studios
